AS3 Performance Supported Junior MX Rider Arthur King - 2023 Season Review

This was our third season sponsoring 65cc class motocross rider; Arthur King, supporting him with parts for his KTM 65 SX. In 2023, Arthur competed in the British Youth Motocross Championship, the Nora British Cup, the Bridgestone British Masters Championship and he was picked to represent Team GB at the Junior World Motocross Championships! Below, we have reviewed Arthur's 2023 season.

2023 British Youth Motocross Championship

This year, qualifying races took place in order to enter the championship - the top 4 riders from each club would only be allowed to register for the series. Arthur got his head down and managed to sweep all qualifying rounds, enabling him to compete in the 2023 Championship.

Round 1, Hawkstone Park

On a sandy track, Arthur qualified 5th on his 65 SX and got the hole shot in Moto 1. He went 4, 6, 5, 5 over the four motos for a P5 overall and a great start to the Championship.

Round 2, School House

Usually one of Arthur's favourite hard pack tracks, this weekend was quite different due to severe wind and downpours in-between! The wind was the problem though. In free practice, Arthur got blown off track by a gust of wind and landed awkwardly on his ankle. With his ankle swollen and painful, Arthur decided to race as points were on the line. It was damage limitation, Arthur riding through the pain for a commendable 7th overall.

Round 3, Monster Mountain

This was the final round of the Championship. With a top 3 of of reach, Arthur needed a top 8 to finish P4 in the Championship. Things didn't start too well; a mechanical on his KTM 65 SX in qualifying meant he qualified 11th so had a lot of work to do after the 11th gate pick. Arthur did manage a hole shot, however; going 4, 5, 5, 8 over the four motos for 5th overall which gave him 4th overall for the Championship! A huge well done to Arthur!

2023 Nora British Cup, Marshfield

Two days of racing and four races in the 65cc Class for Arthur. He had a fantastic firt race, taking the win. He then went 3rd, 5th and 2nd to give him 2nd overall for the Cup. Congrats to Arthur on a great weekend!

2023 Bridgestone British Masters Championship

Round 1, Preston Docks & Round 2, Cusses Gorse

Round 1 didn't go too well compared to Arthur's high standards, coming away with a 7th overall. At Cusses Gorse for Round 2, Arthur felt much better and went 4, 3, 4, 4 over the four races for 4th overall.

Round 3, Monster Mountain

Arthur had four solid motos, coming away with 2nd overall for the weekend!

Round 4, Culham

The track was very wet and boggy due to the weather. In moto 1, Arthur's power valve broke, so his 65 SX struggled in the deep parts and on the hills. Nevertheless, Arthur pushed on for a decent 5th place. He rode well in the other three motos, coming away with 3rd overall.

Round 5, Hawkstone Park

Arthur really likes the track at Hawkstone and once he gets a flow, he can usually make some really good line choices and make light work of the deep sand. Even though he felt he was riding well, with no crashes, he could not get any higher than 4th overall for the weekend. He was happy with that though, as it kept him 3rd overall for the Championship with one round to go.

Round 6, Foxhill

The last round of the Bridgestone British Masters took place at the famous Foxhill track. Arthur really likes racing in this track in a valley with the crowd watching from above. In moto 1, Arthur got the hole shot and came home in P2. It was a great feeling leading the pack into the valley off the start. A solid 3rd in moto 2 and then a 7th in moto 3 after a crash at the start, gave Arthur a P3 overall for the weekend, as well as a P3 for the Championship! Well done Arthur on a top 3!!

2023 Junior World Motocross Championships

Arthur was picked to represent Team GB, competing in the 65cc Class at the Junior World Motocross Championships in Romania. Arthur was the youngest rider competing on his KTM 65 SX and was a big step-up; racing against the fastest Juniors in the World who were up to 2 years older than himself. Arthur narrowly missed out on qualifying for the main event by a mere half-a-second, but what a great experience for him and stands him in good stead for next year!

AS3 Performance Parts Used By Arthur

"This season, we ran black front brake & clutch levers, as they give a factory look but still have the same feel as the standard KTM levers... we also ran titanium foot pegs, as they are super light-weight but give extra grip, not allowing your feet to slip of the pegs in any conditions... we ran AS3 sprockets all season too and found them perfect every time, no issues at all with them... with the light-weight rear sprockets coming in a range of colours and sizes, we had everything we needed from AS3".

AS3 by Venhill featherlight throttle cables for the 2023-2024 KTM 4 strokes

This week we have just added to our range of featherlight throttle cables and we now have them listed for the 2023-2024 KTM SX-F and XC-F motocross and cross country bikes plus the 2024 EXC-F enduro bikes. KTM have also released 2 brand new models for 2024, The 350 XW-F and the 500 XW-F which are included in the list off bikes that these cables fit. The throttle cables are available in a choice of orange or black and are in stock now.

2023-2024 Throttle cables for Gas Gas and Husqvarna

The same cables as mentioned above are also available for the 2023-2024 Husqvarna and Gas Gas motocross and enduro bikes, in blue and black for the Husqvarna and red and black for the Gas Gas. The throttle cables fit all of the standard Husqvarna FC, FE and FX bikes plus we have also added the 2023 Husqvarna Heritage models in to the 'Will Fit' section on our website. For the Gas Gas the throttle cables fit the 2 new ES 350 and EW 500 F bikes plus the MC 250 F and MC 450 F Factory Editions.
