How Do AS3 Parts Hold Up After A Full Round Of The Enduro GP World Championship?

Before & After Photos Plus Rider & Mechanic Feedback

Jack Edmonson's mechanic - James Rees - upgraded a PAR Homes 2026 KTM 250 SX-F motocross bike to enduro spec for the EnduroGP of Wales - which took place in Rhayader and marked the final round of the FIM World EnduroGP Championship. Below, we showcase some key AS3 Performance parts used on the race bike and give some before and after pictures of a few of the parts after a full EnduroGP round. An EnduroGP event features Special Tests including a Super Test, Grass Test, Extreme Test, Enduro Test and Cross Test so the bikes and parts really get put through their paces on different obstacles and terrain. James gave a walk-round of Jack's 250 SX-F race bike before the event.

Bash Guard (Skid Plate)

Jack Edmondson ran our DTC plastic bash guard (skid plate) on the KTM 250 SX-F for the EnduroGP of Wales, putting it through its paces from the SuperTest on the Friday evening, to the last of the 12 Special Tests by the end of Sunday. This is one of the most important protection parts you can run in an enduro event. He told us that, "it really took a hammering" and was really pleased with how well it withstood everything he threw at it. The particular skid plate fitted comes with linkage protection, but Jack's mechanic, James, modified it for the event by cutting this section off, so as "to have access to the linkage during the event, should they need to do any quick repairs on it between tests". Below we show the skid plate at the start of the weekend vs after the weekend's racing. The last picture shows the skid plate taken off the bike for closer inspection of the bottom and you can see it held up very well.

Rear Brake Disc Guard

The rear brake disc guard is another extremely important protection part that every enduro rider should run. Jack and his mechanic were, again, very pleased with our billet aluminium rear brake disc guard, which they have ran for the last 2 seasons. Below you can see the before and after of pictures of the rear brake disc guard over the race weekend. Even though it looks very scratched, this is normal after an intense enduro event and as James Rees said: "shows just how much it protected the rear brake disc".

Swing Arm Guard & Chain Guide

Due to the mounting points for the chain guide being very exposed on the KTM 250 SX-F, James fitted our swing arm guard, on top of our chain guide, to Jack's bike. The swing arm guard provided the required resistance to a lot of impacts and the parts can even save a full swing arm replacement! Our chain guide protected the rear sprocket and kept the chain running in line. See the pictures below of the swing arm guard and chain guide on Jack's KTM 250 SX-F before and after the EnduroGP.

Clutch Cover & Water Pump Cover

Our billet aluminium Factory Series clutch covers and water pump covers have been used by top Enduro riders for years. At this year's EnduroGP of Wales, Jack was running one, as well as Fast Eddy Triumph riders Harry Edmondson and Jack Keenan. We have a feature explaining the benefits of an AS3 Performance clutch cover over an OEM clutch cover. The below pictures show the right side of the PAR Homes 250 SX-F engine before and after the event.

Seat Cover

Jack ran our seat cover for the first time for the EnduroGP of Wales. James fitted it a few days before, so Jack had some practice on it before the weekend. When we spoke to them on the Friday before the SuperTest we all mentioned how good it looked on the orange and black KTM. Jack said he was "really pleased with the feel and grip" of our seat cover. After running it the whole weekend over 12 tests, we caught up with Jack on the Sunday evening and he said he "could not fault it; it worked great" for him. Below is a picture of our black and orange ribbed seat cover fitted to Jack's 2026 SX-F 250.

Ignition Wire Guard & Ignition Plug

Our ignition wire guard has been a staple on Jack's enduro bikes over the last two seasons, providing much needed protection to the ignition wire. Our orange anodised ignition plug is stronger than the OEM plug, whilst providing that eye-catching look to the left hand side of the engine. Have a look at the before and after pictures of the ignition wire cover and ignition plug below.

Radiator Cap

We offer 3 high pressure radiator caps for the KTM 250 SX-F - 1.6 BAR, 1.8 BAR and 2.0 BAR. James has always fitted an AS3 Performance 1.8 BAR radiator cap to the 250 SX-F, preventing coolant loss from the radiators when the motor is running at high temperatures, especially during enduro GP events. Below shows our radiator cap fitted to Jack's bike before and after.

Master Cylinder Covers

Jack has ran our billet aluminium master cylinder covers (or reservoir covers) on all his bikes over the last two years and the KTM 250 SX-F race bikes for the EnduroGP were no different. James fitted the front brake, rear brake & clutch reservoir covers, all anodised in orange, to complete the "factory look". They are not only for aesthetics however - you can read about the advantages of our aluminium reservoir covers over the OEM covers in our Billet Aluminium Reservoir Covers Feature. Below, we show the front brake reservoir cover fitted to Jack's bike before and after the EnduroGP of Wales.
