AS3 Performance Weekly Round Up #22

2024 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship Kicks Off

SuperEnduro Round 1, Lievin, France, 25th November

It was only just over a week ago that our supported Enduro Rider; Jonny Walker, finished the AMA EnduroCross campaign over in the US, with a 2nd place in the Championship. The British Beta man then flew directly from America to Europe and made the trip to France, to compete in the first round of the 2024 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship.

Kicking on from where he left off over the pond, Jonny showed no signs of any jet-lag and grabbed 2nd overall in the Prestige (Pro) Class, on his Beta 300 RR. In the three race format, he went 2,2,2 on the night, with the overall belonging to Husqvarna's Billy Bolt with a fairly dominant 1,1,1. Over the three races, the battle for 3rd overall was on. In race 1, Rieju's Dominik Olszowy took P3, in race 2, another Rieju rider; Alfredo Gomez, took P3 and in race 3, Beta's Will Hoare took P3. With that P3, the 25 year-old Hoare took 3rd overall at the first round - the best result of his career so far! That also made the overall podium an all-British one. Congratulations to Jonny and the British lads!

Jonny gave his thoughts on the first round's racing: "I’m really happy because I had a good gap on third place each time tonight... I felt like I had good pace and got close to Billy out front a few times, but I always ended up making small mistakes... I didn’t feel that ready coming into the weekend, but as soon as I got on track that changed and I settled into it... Billy’s riding as well as ever and he’s solid, but I’m going to try everything to be closer to him and I think the layout and surface might suit me better next time out in Poland". The next round of the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship is on 9th December in Krakow.

AS3 Performance Bike Of The Week

This week we feature this 2008 Husqvarna SM 510 R, upgraded by one of our customers @doochan78 in Tapei, Taiwan. Doo Chan is a 44 year-old bike enthusiast who also rides a Yamaha MT-09. Since gaining an interest in Supermoto, he had been looking for a SM 510 R that he could upgrade and in July he found the one. As you can see, he has improved the performance and look to another level and used a few of our parts in doing so. Below we detail the bike and the AS3 Performance parts used for the build.

Doo Chan chose a red theme for the majority of upgraded parts and we start by detailing our Factory Series Wide Foot Pegs he used for the build, anodised in red. The colour goes perfectly with the Marzocchi forks used in this particular build and this style of foot peg is a very popular choice in a lot of Bike Builds we see, from Supermoto to Motocross. We have them available for all brands including Honda, Fantic, SWM and GasGas, to name but a few.

Doo Chan upgraded to our black, cold forged Rear Brake Pedal and Gear Lever, both coming with red anodised tips. Again, these red accents match perfectly to the other stand-out red parts. Not only do the tips provide a big visual upgrade, the other big advantage of upgrading to our levers from the OEM levers, is that they are stronger, due to the cold forging process and less likely to snap on any impact. NOTE: if you are looking at rear brake and/or gear levers on our website and don't see them with the tip-colour you would like, simply reach out to us via email or DM us on our socials and we can help you out with ordering a different tip colour.

In addition to the Rear Brake Line, the customer replaced the Front Brake Line, as well as the Throttle Cables and Decompression Cable on his SM 510 R. We were able to offer all cables in red and the brake lines alone significantly improve feel and response throughout the braking system, when compared to the OEM brake lines. All of our cables are made of marine grade stainless steel and have gone through a rigorous process of testing and certification procedures.
