World Renowned Superbiker Mettet 2025!
AS3 Performance were at one of the best Supermoto events on the calendar in Mettet, Belgium
Last weekend, we attended Superbiker Mettet. The event is an annual Supermoto event held at the Jules Tacheny Circuit in Mettet, Belgium. Combining asphalt and off-road sections, it brings together professional and amateur riders for one of The World's biggest supermoto races. Usually held in October, the event features multiple racing categories, stunt and freestyle shows and a lively festival atmosphere. With over 400 participants, Superbiker Mettet often serves as the finale of the FIM Supermoto World Championship and is a highlight of the Belgian motorsport calendar. We caught up with a few of the British amateur and professional Supermoto riders who were competing and who we have supported with AS3 Performance parts over the last few years. Below, we will detail the event format, results from the Supermoto World Championship, results from the Superbiker races our supported riders were competing in, as well as some details about the track, including lots of pictures and video links.

Superbiker Mettet Format
The event features multiple categories - including S1GP (The FIM World Supermoto Championship), Supermoto, Starbiker, Prestige, Senior, Junior Supermoto, Quad and Starbiker — attracting over 400 riders. Serving as the final round of the FIM Supermoto World Championship, the weekend runs from Friday to Sunday. Friday includes free practices, qualifying sessions, and the Superpole for top S1GP riders. Saturday hosts the first S1GP and Junior Race 1 along with the high-speed “Fast Race,” while Sunday concludes with the Junior Race 2 and the prestigious S1GP Super Final. In addition to the above, the Superbiker Final is the highlight of the weekend, a major and widely celebrated Supermoto event that attracts a diverse range of participants - from enthusiastic amateurs to elite world-class professionals. The Superbiker Final marks the climax of the event, bringing together riders who have advanced through qualifying rounds along with invited Starbiker riders (this year included Sports Bike pros - Davey Todd and Storm Stacey), making it one of the most competitive and prestigious Supermoto races in the world. It combines world-class competition with stunt shows and festival feel!

How Do You Qualify For The Superbiker Final At Mettet?
The qualification process for the Superbiker Final at Mettet is multi-staged. It begins with free and timed practice sessions, which allow riders to familiarize themselves with the track and establish lap times used to group them for the next stages - these sessions do not result in eliminations. Next come the qualifying heats or matches, where riders are divided into groups based on their practice times and compete for direct advancement to the semi-finals. Those who do not qualify initially are given another opportunity through the Last Chance and Super Last Chance races, where top finishers can still secure a place in the semi-finals. The semi-finals then bring together riders who advanced from previous rounds along with invited Starbiker riders, narrowing the field further as a set number of top competitors (usually between 15 and 20) earn their spots in the Superbiker Final. The weekend culminates with this Superbiker Final - the main event in which all qualified and invited riders race head-to-head to determine the ultimate Superbiker champion - The field is usually around 50 Supermoto riders.

FIM Supermoto World Championship SGP1 Results
Superbiker Mettet in Belgium marked the final round of the 2025 season for the premier S1GP class. Marc Reiner-Schmidt on the Team 11 TM 450 SMR delivered a perfect season, winning all six Grands Prix and sealing the Mettet victory to crown his dominant campaign. At Mettet, Reiner-Schmidt took control early in the SuperFinal, entered the Joker Lane on lap 3 and maintained his lead to secure the GP win. Schruf Racing's Lukas Höllbacher, on his KTM 450 SMR, finished in P2 after applying pressure until the final corner, with TSV Racing Factory Team TM Corse's Steve Bonnal (TSV Racing Factory Team TM Corse) completed the podium in P3. These three riders finished in the same positions for the 2025 FIM Supermoto World Championship. The top SGP1 riders at Mettet then contested the Superbiker Final, for the last race of the day along with all the other riders who had qualified. The result was the same as in the SGP1 Super Final, with Reiner-Schmidt and Höllbacher finishing within a second of each other, which was the case the whole weekend!

Davey Todd Starbiker Class
We have supported Isle of Man TT star Davey Todd with various AS3 Performance aftermarket parts over the years, for his Supermoto and Motocross bikes. He has raced Superbiker Mettet in previous years on KTMs and Hondas. This year he wasn't going to race, but got invited last minute to ride a TSV Racing Factory Team TM Corse 450 bike. We caught up with him over the weekend and even though he had never ridden the TM before the event, the bike felt rapid at 72 bhp and he was adapting to it well. Davey qualified strongly, despite being taken out in one race and made it to the Superbiker Final with a top 5 fastest time. In the final, he was running inside the top 6 until an issue with the bike prevented him from being able to properly race the bike. He came over the line in P23 and took P3 in the Starbiker Class.

Storm Stacey Starbiker Class
British Superbikes star - Storm Stacey - is another British rider who runs AS3 Performance parts on his own Supermoto bikes. At Mettet 2025 he was riding a KTM 450 SMR for the Tripz.uk team. Storm topped the Starbiker category in the Superbiker Final, adding the prestigious win to his racing résumé! He finished with a P10 overall, after a couple of small offs during the race, otherwise, like Todd, he was looking odds-on for a higher finish. We are looking forward to watching him race at Superbiker Mettet 2026 all being well.

Alex Mullaney Prestige Class
Alex was running our Factory Series Clutch Cover on his KTM 450 SMR at the 2025 Superbiker Mettet, as he had done throughout the 2025 British Supermoto Junior Championship. He made it through qualification in the top 10 and started the SuperBiker final from the 9th row (grid position 33). Alex had a great race, charging forward to finish 22nd overall, gaining 11 places from grid to finish! He completed 18 laps in 00:29:59.907, finishing 1'29.246 behind the winner, Marc Reiner-Schmidt. Mullaney’s best lap was 1:37.738 (set on lap 3), his average race speed was 82.804 km/h, and he rode a KTM for the event. A great result for Alex and since returning to the UK, he sealed the 2025 British under 21's Championship!

Richard Blakeman Supermoto Class
Fat N Fast Racing's Richard Blakeman was running our Factory Series Clutch Cover and Water Pump Cover on his KTM 450 SMR. Like Alex Mullaney, he competes in the British Supermoto Championship. At Superbiker Mettet 2025 he made it into the Semi-Final but narrowly missed out on a place in the Final, coming 20th out of 51 riders. He needed to be top 16 to progress to the Superbiker Final. It was great to catch up with Richard over the weekend and took P4 overall in the British Supermoto Championship one week after Mettet. We look forward to seeing him hopefully qualify for the Superbiker Final in 2026.

What Is The Superbiker Mettet Track Like?
The Supermoto Jules Tacheny circuit is about 2 kilometres in length, with 1.3585 kilometres being tarmac and 684.5 metres being off-road. The tarmac section features tight left hand and right hand corners, hair-pin bends, along with a fast back straight and even faster start-finish line straight! Chicanes mark the entry to and exit from the off-road section. The off-road section has a big left-hand berm, tunnel, table-top over the tunnel and 3-4 big rollers. Below, we have pictures of the Superbiker Mettet track at various points.
