AS3 Performance Weekly Round Up #31

2nd Place For Jonny Walker In Budapest

2024 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship, Round 5, Budapest, Hungary

It was the 5th round in a row that our supported Beta Enduro Pro rider; Jonny Walker, came 2nd overall. Even though Walker took the SuperPole (qualifying fastest for first gate pick), the overall was won, yet again, by Walker's British friend and rival; Billy Bolt. P3 overall was taken by GasGas's Portuguese rider; Diogo Vieira.

Race 1

Husqvarna's Bolt took the holeshot with Walker mired mid-pack. Germany's KTM rider; Manuel Lettenbichler was in 2nd for a while, before Walker swept past on his Beta 300 RR. Lettenbichler had a race to forget; a crash whilst chasing Bolt and Walker allowed the GasGas of Diogo Vieira to go into P3. Vieira consolidated P3 as Lettenbichler crashed again, unbelievably right in front of Billy Bolt coming up to lap him in the matrix section of the track. With nowhere to go, Bolt had to jump off his bike and looked to have hurt his already injured left leg! Both riders managed to get back up and Bolt held on for the win, with Walker finishing 2nd.

Race 2

The P3 in Race 1 proved no fluke for Diogo Vieira; the GasGas rider claiming the holeshot in Race 2. Seemingly "OK" from the crash in Race 1, Billy Bolt soon passed Vieira though and pulled away for the win. Vieira battled the Rieju of Dominik Olszowy for a while, but the Portuguese rider came out on top and came home in P2; Olszowy pushing too hard and making mistakes. GasGas's Mitch Brightmore grabbed P3, with our Beta man; Walker, only managing to finish 5th.

Race 3

Jonny Walker bounced back emphatically in Race 3, taking the holeshot. This didn't prevent British compatriot; Bolt, passing him to take P1 and clean-sweep the evening, however. Walker held on for P2 from Lettenbichler who took P3 on his KTM. Diego Vieira had a nightmare off the start, going down into turn one. He was plumb last when he picked himself up, but rode superbly thereafter, picking his way through the field to take P6! With that, he consolidated P3 overall for the evening, a first ever World Championship podium for the Portuguese GasGas rider!

Jonny gave his thoughts on Round 5: "I felt good and I was happy with the track... but when it came to the races, I just really struggled... The first race wasn’t too bad, but it felt like I was losing the front a lot... I got a bit of arm-pump too... The second race was an absolute nightmare for me... must have crashed four or five times and I had some collisions too... I turned it around a bit in the final race, but Billy was on fire again."

Congrats to Jonny Walker on another great 2nd place in the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship. We look forward to seeing if he can get a win in the final two rounds - The penultimate round is in Sofia, Bulgaria, on 24th February with the final round being held in Newcastle, UK on 2nd March.

New Protection Parts For The Honda CRF 300 L & The Yamaha YZ450F

Honda CRF 300 L Radiator Brace and Skid plate

This week we have added to our growing list of parts for the Honda CRF 300 L. We now stock radiator braces and skid plates for the popular trail bike. Yamaha YZ450F Skid Plate and Radiator Braces

In 2023, the Yamaha YZ450F received a long list of revisions and upgrades, one of which being the cooling system, which meant development had to start on a brand new set of braces to protect the radiators. These radiator braces are now in stock and available to purchase on our website. The frame on the YZ 450 F was also slightly different for the 2023-2024 model and we also now have an aluminium skid plate to protect the lower frame and the engine casings. These parts also fit the 2023-2024 Yamaha YZ 450 FX.
