AS3 Performance Weekly Round Up #20

Penultimate Round Of AMA EnduroCross For Jonny Walker

2023 AMA EnduroCross Championship, Round 5, Redmond, Oregon, 11th November

Our supported Beta rider; Jonny Walker, was back on the box with a 3rd overall at the penultimate round of the EnduroCross Championship in Redmond, Oregon. Having set the fastest hot lap in qualifying, Jonny looked like he could be on for sweeping the evening, but it was Rockstar Energy Husqvarna's Colton Haaker who took the overall win on the night. Haaker has been up there in all 5 rounds so far and got his just rewards at Round 5, going 1,3,1 in a close tussle with FMF KTM's Trytan Hart, as well as Walker, over the three races. Hart claimed 2nd overall with a 2,1,3.

With a 3,2,2 on the evening, Walker on his Beta 300 RR said, "I just felt tense in the first moto... I wasn't getting the triple I wanted to get and lost bits of time here and there... I felt I had the pace in the second moto... it was tight racing and had a chance of getting the overall in the last moto, but I ended up going down when Colton crossed-jumped me, dropping me to second". Even though it wasn't the result he wanted, a big Well Done to Jonny for 3rd overall at Round 5.

With one round to go, Jonny Walker leads the Championship from Trystan Hart by 7 points and Colton Haaker by 12 points! With 30 points for 1st overall, 25 points for 2nd and 20 points for 3rd, it will go down to the final round as to who is crowned the 2023 Champion. We wish Jonny the best of luck next weekend at the final round in Reno, Nevada and hope he wraps up his 2nd AMA EnduroCross Championship in a row.

2023 International Six Days Enduro (ISDE), San Juan, Argentina

Team GB Women's Trophy rider and AS3 Performance supported Enduro rider; Nieve Holmes, came 7th overall in the 2023 ISDE, which took place 6th - 11th November. In very dry, hot and punishing conditions in San Juan, Argentina, Nieve; on her Sherco SE-F 300 R, rode fantastic all week in 46 degrees C heat at the 97th Edition of the event. Nieve said, "It was the hardest race I have ever done both mentally and physically". Huge congratulations to Nieve on a great result! The 3-woman GB Team couldn't retain the title that they won last year, unfortunately, due to Emily Hall and Libby Tett having to pull out of the event early on, after both suffering from the extreme heat.

Team GB Men's Trophy rider and AS3 supported rider; Jamie McCanney, was part of the 4-man team that came 3rd overall at the 2023 ISDE! Although the team didn't retain the title they won last year, either, this podium was a great result considering the tough conditions. Alongside Jamie on his Husqvarna FE 450 were riders; Jed Etchells, Nathan Watson and Alex Snow. A massive Well Done to Jamie and all 4 members of the British Team!
