AS3 Performance Weekly Round Up #14

Business End Of The 2023 EnduroGP FIM World Championship

EnduroGP Round 6 - Valpacos, Portugal - 29th Sep - 1st Oct

The penultimate EnduroGP round of the season took place last weekend in Valpacos, Portugal and it will go down to the final event, next weekend (also in Portugal), as to who is crowned Champion. Our Sponsored Rider Jamie McCanney had another strong weekend, on the box again in the E1 Class with a P3. The Fast Eddy Racing Team's Husqvarna rider was consistent on both days, going P3 (E1 Class) & P6 (Overall EGP) on the Saturday and P3 (E1 Class) & P7 (Overall EGP) on the Sunday.

This weekend's result puts Jamie 4th in the E1 Class World Championship by 1 point from French Sherco Rider, Zachary Pichon. The Frenchman came 2nd in Valpacos and with 1 round to go, it is going to go down to the wire for a Championship Podium. The current 2nd placed rider, Beta's Theophile Espinasse, is only 11 points ahead of McCanney, so it is all to play for going into the final round in St Andre/Santiago do Cacem, Portugal. KTM's Josep Garcia is the current E1 Class Championship leader by 32 points and is unlikely to relinquish that this weekend, unless something drastic happens.

Congratulations to Jamie on the great result and we wish him and the team all the best for the final round in a few days. Commiserations to Jamie's Fast Eddy teammate, Jack Edmonson. After a solid P6 on the Sat, Jack unfortunately caught his shoulder on a tree on the Sunday. Although his shoulder looked to be OK, it was too painful for the Husqvarna man to carry on, so it was a DNF for Jack unfortunately. We wish him a speedy recover for the final round this weekend and hopefully he can finish with a strong result.

The Fast Eddy Racing Team Have Used The Following AS3 Performance Parts For The Enduro GP Championship

For the EnduroGP races, the team runs a number of our protection parts on their Husqvarna FE 250 bikes. These include, Rear Brake Disc Guards, Water Pump Covers and Clutch Covers. Our Rear Brake Disc Guards are made of 6061 billet aluminium, making them lightweight, whilst providing excellent protection for the rear brake disc. Our Water Pump Covers and Clutch Covers are CNC machined from a solid block of billet aluminium and are much stronger than the OEM equivalents, both are very important protection parts for Enduro and used by many of our supported riders.

Good To See One Of Our Supported Junior Enduro Riders Back

After a few months out, Jay Codling was back on his Husqvarna TC 85, competing in the final round of the Edge Offroad National Sprint Enduro Series at Doncaster. On a sandy, forested course, Jay managed 11th place out of 26 riders in his class, a solid result considering he has been off the bike so long. Congrats to Jay on the comeback! He did state, however, that he thought he could have done better as he, "forgot to bring important things like electrolyte powder for his water and cream to help prevent arm pump etc". Hopefully Jay has a good off-season and we look forward to seeing Jay from the start of the next Enduro season.

Expansion Of AS3 Performance By Venhill Control Cables Product Range

Over 200 New Clutch, Throttle, Brake And Choke Cables For Classic Motorcycles

We have recently been working with our brake line and control cable partner Venhill Engineering on a range of cables for older classic motorcycles. Even though the production of these bike ceased over 30-40 years ago there are still many of these bike around. With little to no production of genuine OEM parts and limited options in the aftermarket, we have decided to offer our customers the chance to purchase high quality aftermarket brake, clutch, throttle and choke cables for these classic motocross, enduro, trials and road bikes. Below we feature some of the highlights of the 200 plus new products that have just been added to our website this week.

Complete Range Of Cables For Maico Motocross And Enduro Bikes

The Maico MX motocross bikes and the Maico WR enduro bikes have a huge following in the classic twinshock motocross and enduro scene and over the years we have had many requests for parts for them. We now offer front and rear brake cables for the Maico off-road bikes from the 70's, 80's and early 90's. These are avilable in a choice of black or red and with a longer than standard option available for the front brake on certain models. We also now stock a range of clutch and throttle cable s for Maico motocross and enduro bikes for all engine sizes from 125-490. These are also available in black to match the standard cables or red to match the red Maico plastics and frame.

Front And Rear Brake Cables For Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha Evo Motocross Bikes

We have used this opportunity to fill in some gaps in our already broad selection of motocross brake lines and cables and now offer front brake cables in red or black for the 1079-1982 Honda CR 125, CR 250 and CR 480. We have also added front brake cables in yellow and black for the 1977-1982 Suzuki RM 125, RM 250, RM 400, RM 420 and RM 465 two stroke motocross bikes and the Suzuki PE 175, PE 250 and PE 400 enduro bikes. For the rear brake cables, we have added the Honda CR 500 1984-1986 and the Yamaha YZ 125, YZ 250 and YZ 490 1984-1990 rear brake cables to our website. These cables are supplied as the wire only without the outer conduit (the same as the OEM cables) so are not available in any colour options.

Bultaco, Ossa, Fantic, Yamaha and Montesa Classic Trials Bike Cables

We now have brake cables, throttle cables and clutch cables available for some of the most popular classic trials bikes from the 1960's-1980's including the Yamaha TY 175, Ossa 250 Mar, Bultaco Sherpa and Fantic 305 all of these cables are available in the standard black colour to match the OEM cables as closely as possible. They are all teflon lined and come with a 1 year warranty.

Clutch Cables And Throttle Cables For BMW and Triumph Classic Motorcycles

Our clutch cable and throttle cable range has also been expanded again with the introduction of a new range of cables for the BMW R45, R65, R80 and R100 models from the 1970's and 1980's. Plus we also have a range of throttle and clutch cables available for some of the classic Triumph motorcycles from the 1960's and 1970's including the Triumph T120 Bonneville, TR6 Trophy, TR7 Tiger and the T150 Trident. Most of these cables are available in 2 options, one for models with the lower UK handlebars and another option for the models with high handlebars that are fitted to most motorcycles in the United States. We have added extra information and measurements in the product description to help advise which cables you will require.
