2018 Beta 300 RR | AS3 Performance Project Bike

Aftermarket Parts To Get Your Beta 300 RR Ready For Hard Enduro

Introduction to the Beta 300 RR

The Beta 300 RR two-stroke is Beta's flagship bike and seen by many as the best bike out there for Hard and Extreme Enduro. It was first released in 2013 along with a Racing model with a few optional extras. Both of these models ran up to 2024 and in 2025 they were re-branded as the 300 RR X-Pro and 300 RR Race. In 2018, when Beta released their predominantly white version, we purchased a bike from a local Beta dealer, because at the time there seemed to be a gap in the market for a range of parts that we supply for the popular Beta models. Over the next few months we worked closely with our suppliers and supported riders, developing and testing our new range of parts for the 300 RR. Below, we feature a selection of the parts we developed for the Beta 300 RR, with detailed photos of both our 2018 project bikes and some other riders and teams that we have worked with along the way.

Beta 300 RR 2018 AS3 Performance parts

Clutch Cover

A billet aluminium clutch cover is an important part for enduro and something that we were constantly receiving requests for before we started this project, as it is a very exposed area of the bike and can be vulnerable to damage from rocks and tree stumps etc. The clutch cover that we developed for the 300 RR is CNC machined from a solid block of 6061 billet aluminium, which makes it much stronger than the cast OEM cover. It also has a 626ml capacity for oil, which is a 7% increase from the OEM cover at 584ml. These clutch covers have been used on all of our Beta supported riders bikes, including Jonny Walker and the Beta Australia Enduro Race Team. For a detailed overview of the features and benefits of installing one of our billet clutch covers, read our Clutch Covers Feature.

Water Pump Cover

To the right of the clutch cover (photo above) you will also notice the bike has a red billet aluminium water pump cover. This is another incredibly popular part for enduro riders, as when paired with the clutch cover, it significantly reduces the chances of loss of coolant or oil and gives a high level of protection to the right side of the engine. Our billet water pump covers for the Beta two strokes are also available in black, which is shown in the photo below on Jonny Walker's 300 RR Racing model. These covers will also fit the 250 RR and the Xtrainer models.

Power Valve Control

Moving to the left side of the engine, another protection upgrade that we offer for the Beta 300 RR is the power valve cover. This is also manufactured from billet aluminium and is a stronger alternative to the OEM part. We offer the power valve cover for the Beta 300 RR in a choice of red and black anodised colours and both feature our AS3 Performance laser engraved logo. This part is often purchased with our billet aluminium water pump cover to give the bike a symmetrical look on both sides of the engine.

Ignition Cover

The ignition cover was the part that took the most work to develop, due to the complicated details and the precise locations of the mounting points for the stator, but after many revisions we finally perfected it and is a great alternative for anyone looking to upgrade to a stronger and more durable ignition cover for their Beta 300 RR enduro bike. When paired with our billet clutch cover, you can ride with confidence that the vital parts of the engine are fully protected for extreme enduro conditions. The photo below shows our ignition cover installed on Ruben Chadwick's 2024 race bike.

Front Sprocket Guard

Our sprocket guard for the Beta 300 RR is compiled of 3 pieces and also doubles up as a case saver, to protect the clutch slave cylinder and the engine casings. The billet aluminium construction makes it a stronger alternative to the OEM plastic cover. It is available in red, as shown in the photo below and we also do a black version for anyone that wants the extra protection benefits, but keeping it closer to the OEM styling. This part will also fit the Xtrainer models too and if you head over to our YouTube channel, you can find an installation video and product review from one of our customers.

Skid Plate

Up until recently, all of our skid plates for the Beta 300 RR were constructed from aluminium, which is what you can see installed on the bike in the photo below. After listening to customer feedback, we found that many enduro riders, especially those riding extreme enduro events, preferred a plastic skid plate, as it provided a smoother glide over obstacles and also offered protection for the rear shock linkage. So now we offer skid plates for the Beta RR and many other manufacturers in both aluminium and DTC plastic. With the bike being an enduro bike, we only offer our 'enduro style' skid plates for this model, which have protection for the clutch cover, water pump cover, ignition cover and other vital engine components. 'Motocross style' skid plates are available for other models, which don't have the side protection of the enduro skid plates. For more information on the huge range of skid plates that we offer and how to work out which one is right for you, read our skid plates guide.

Gear Lever & Rear Brake Pedal

We have two options of gear levers and rear brake pedals for the Beta 300 RR. Our standard levers come in black with red anodised tips (other tip colours are also available on request). Our standard brake pedal has a spring loaded tip that will pivot on impact, to help reduce the chances of damage to the pedal, which is shown in the photo below. We also offer our Factory Series rear brake pedal and gear lever kits. These levers have a textured matt black anodised finish with grey tips. The rear brake pedal in this kit has a fixed tip, that can be moved forwards or backwards. We also have oversized rear brake pedal tips available for both pedals. To learn more about them, read our Guide to AS3 Oversized Brake Pedal Tips.

Foot Pegs

The foot pegs for the Beta 300 RR were unchanged for the 2013-2019 models and we offer these in our Racing Series option, which are a lightweight aluminium foot peg with individual stainless steel teeth. We also have our Factory Series option that combines a lightweight aluminium base with a heavy duty stainless steel teeth plate (shown in the photo below). For the 2020- models, the design of the foot pegs changed and again we offer these in our Racing and Factory options, plus a titanium option which is our premium enduro foot peg for the Beta 300 RR. Read our feature 'Why upgrade to titanium foot pegs?' for detailed information on the features and benefits of installing them.

Front Brake and Clutch Levers

We developed a set of flexible (“flexi”) front brake and clutch levers, which can sometimes also be referred to pivot levers or snap back levers, to fit a range of the Beta RR enduro models. They are manufactured from aluminium with forged levers and CNC machined mounting points. The pivot design allows the levers to fold outwards on impact, to help prevent them from breaking or snapping, which can easily happen with the OEM levers in tough enduro conditions. The levers also have an adjustable reach, allowing you to set them at a distance to suit the rider. Brake and clutch controls are a personal preference and not all riders like the way the flexi levers feel, so with this in mind, we also developed a set of cold forged aluminium levers which have a very similar feel to the standard Beta levers. The forging process makes these levers softer than the OEM levers, so they will bend on impact, rather than snap like most OEM cast levers would. The picture below shows our cold forged clutch lever on the Brembo master cylinder on our 2018 Beta 300 RR project bike.

Reservoir Covers

The Beta 300 RR has a Brembo clutch and a Nissin front brake. We offer master cylinder reservoir covers for both. They are CNC machined for a perfect fit and are also stronger and more durable than the standard reservoir covers, as they are machined from a solid block of billet aluminium. Our reservoir covers for the Beta RR enduro bikes are available in anodised red and black. We also went with a blue option too, to match the blue graphics on the Racing models. Below you can see an example of our red anodised clutch reservoir cover on the Beta 300 RR.

Rotating Bar Clamps

AS3 Performance rotating bar clamps are a universal fitting product on many clutch and front brake master cylinders and when we checked them on our 300 RR project bike, they were also compatible. We have them available for all Beta RR and Xtrainer models in red and black. They are designed to be installed on the back of your front brake or clutch master cylinder to allow the master cylinder to rotate on impact, which will help prevent damage to the master cylinder or lever. These are another part that were used by Jonny Walker when he rode for Beta, as well as used by the Beta Australia Race Team. With an anodised finish and AS3 Performance branding, they look great installed alongside our reservoir covers, with most customers opting to install both as per the photo below.

Handlebar Clamps

We have 3 different options of handlebar clamps available for the Beta 300 RR. We offer a standard height replacement that replaces the OEM handlebar clamps like for like. We also offer a 10mm lower version (as shown in the photo below) and a +10mm higher version, for any riders looking to raise the handlebars on the bike. Please be aware though that if you are installing higher handlebar mounts, you may need to fit a longer brake line, clutch line and throttle cable. This is something that we can help with though, so feel free to contact us to discuss. The same handlebar clamps will fit all Beta RR enduro bikes and we have them available in a choice of black or red.

Ribbed Gripper Seat Cover

In any form of off-road riding, grip and traction are essential, but not just from the tyres. In wet enduro conditions, you may also start to lose grip from the seat with the standard Beta seat cover. Our seat cover for the Beta 300 RR has 6 ribbed strips to help prevent you sliding around on the seat. They are available in black with red traction strips to match the plastics and graphics on the Beta enduro bikes.

Braided Brake Lines

The Beta 300 RR comes with braided brake and clutch lines as standard, which is a great feature as most Japanese models come with rubber hoses which can sometimes feel 'spongy', especially when the brakes warm up. With braided brake lines, you will have a much more responsive feel from the brakes and clutch. We offer a full range of braided brake lines for the Beta 300 RR. The front brake and clutch lines have had multiple revisions over the years, but the rear line has stayed the same. All of our brake and clutch lines for Beta enduro bikes are available in either black, which are a great replacement for any damaged OEM brake lines, or red, which many chose to match the plastics and graphics of the bike.

Brake Pads

We stock two different types of brake pads for the Beta 300 RR. Our Racing Series brake pads are designed for slower, wet, muddy conditions and our Factory Series brake pads are designed for faster, hard pack conditions. Both options are available for the front and rear calipers. Brake discs and pads are both a specialist component, so we have these produced for us by one of the world's leading motorcycle braking companies, that have them tried and tested in some of the toughest racing conditions, by some of the best riders in the world. We receive great feedback from customers about our discs and pads and having them produced by the same factory means that you can have confidence they will perform well together.

Rear Axle Blocks

Available in a choice of red or black for the Beta 300 RR, our rear axle blocks are another billet aluminium upgrade from the OEM parts. They feature alignment scales at the top and bottom of each block to assist with accurate wheel alignment. The axle blocks on the Beta 300 RR have remained the same since the bikes introduction in 2013 and they will also fit the 2025 X-Pro and Race models. These axle blocks were another parts favoured part by Jonny Walker when he was on the 300 RR.

Rear Brake Disc Guard

The rear brake disc guard is one of our most popular products for enduro riders, as the rear brake disc on the the Beta 300 RR plus many other enduro bikes is very exposed and vulnerable to impact from rocks, logs and other obstacles and a bent or damaged disc could lead to a premature end to your race. Our sponsored Beta rider Jonny Walker has used this part on his 300 RR Racing Edition in the AMA Endurocross and FIM SuperEnduro events up until his switch to Triumph in 2025. Our rear brake disc guard comes complete with the caliper mount to provide a sturdy and solid protection for the rear brake disc. This part will fit all of the standard RR and X-Pro models up to 2025, however, due to the wider axle on the 2025 Race models, it will only fit these bikes up to 2024 (at the time of writing, this a new guard is currently in development and will be available around August 2025). Both the current and new guard come in a black anodised finish with a choice of red, black and blue fins.

Rear Sprocket

In the photo below, you can see our 7075 aluminium rear sprocket, anodised in red installed on the Beta 300 RR. These sprockets are a lighter alternative to the OEM steel sprockets and available for the Beta 300 RR in red or black. At the time of the photoshoot that we did for the 300 RR, this was the only rear sprocket that we stocked. Since then though, we have another rear sprocket option that is actually more popular with enduro riders, which is our Factory Series rear sprocket. These sprockets combine the durability of steel with the weight of aluminium, to bring you the ultimate hard enduro rear sprocket.

Chain Guide

Our chain guides for the Beta 300 RR have either a red or black anodised aluminium mounting bracket, which is paired with a hard wearing TPU plastic block. TPU plastic is used for our chain guides due to its flexibility and elasticity properties, meaning it can withstand impacts without losing its shape, within reason obviously. The TPU blocks are replaceable and can be ordered separately from our website if required. The photo of the red version below is actually from another customers Beta 480 RR project bike, however the same chain guide fits all Beta models including the 300 RR.

Beta 300 RR FAQ's

A lot of our Enduro customers and supported riders ride Beta 300 RR's. We often get questions about the bike and especially parts fitment questions, as a new year is released. Below we address the most frequently asked questions about the Beta 300 RR.

When was the Beta 300 RR first produced?

The Beta 300 RR was brought to the market in 2013 along side a 2 stroke version of the 250 RR. A Racing Edition was also introduced in 2013 and more recently for 2025 the Beta 300 RR X-Pro has just been released.

What is the difference between the Beta 300 RR and Beta 300 RR Race Edition?

The biggest variations are in 1. The Suspension. On the 300 RR, ZF Sachs units come as stock. On the Racing Edition, it is KYB. 2. The Fuel. On the 300 RR, it is oil injection but on the Race Edition it is premix fuelling.

What brakes does the Beta 300 RR have?

The Beta 300 RR has Nissin master cylinders and calipers on both the front and rear brake. This is the same across all models including the Racing and the new 2025 X-Pro models. The clutch however is a Brembo master cylinder and lever.

Who rides a Beta 300 RR in EnduroGP?

9 time EnduroGP World Champion Brad Freeman rides a Beta 300 RR for the Beta Factory Enduro Team alongside Nathan Watson. Freeman competes in the E1 Class and Watson competes in the E2 Class.

Which bikes are similar to the Beta 300 RR?

The 300cc 2 stroke is the most popular model for enduro riders. The GasGas equivalent is the EC 300 and the Sherco SE 300 is also very similar to the 300 RR. KTM and Husqvarna's versions are the 300 EXC and TE 300 respectively. Fantic have also released an XE 300 2 stroke model.

Is the Beta 300 RR fuel injection?

No. Where as many of the modern 300cc 2 stroke enduro bikes have switched over to fuel injection including KTM, Husqvarna and Gas Gas, the Beta 300 RR still has a carburettor. The 2025 X-Pro model comes as standard with a Keihin PXK 36 carburettor.
