Protection Parts For The Suzuki DE 800 V-Strom Adventure Bike
A Closer Look At Our Range Of Parts For Suzuki's New Adventure Motorcycle
Introduction to the Suzuki DE 800 V-Strom
The Suzuki DE 800 V-Strom is the latest edition to the Suzuki V-Strom adventure bike family which sits along side the DL 650 V-Strom and DL 1050 V-Strom which replaced the DL 1000 V-Strom in 2020. Suzuki also offer a smaller version the DL 250 V-Strom. Today we are taking a look at the DE 800 and the range of protection parts and accessories that we offer for the new Suzuki adventure bike. Please note that in this feature most of the parts are shown in yellow. This was for display purpose only and the DE 800 parts that we keep in stock are all in our textured matt black finish.

Skid Plate
We'll start with the skid plate which is always an essential part if your doing any form of off-road riding as rocks can easily flick up from the front wheel or the rider in front and potentially cause damage to the engine casings which could lead to a very expensive repair. Not just a protection part, we feel that the addition of our skid plate also dramatically improves the look of the motorcycle. Our skid plates for the Suzuki DE 800 V-Strom all have a painted finish and although the photo below shows them in yellow, this was for show purpose only and we only hold stock of them in textured matt black. They are constructed from 4mm thick aluminium and when you include the mounting hardware and brackets the total weight gain to the bike is 2.92kg which in our opinion is well worth it considering the protection that this part offers to the motorcycle. We supply skid plates for a wide range of off-road motorcycles in various different style, for more information on our complete skid plate range read our Guide To AS3 Skid Plates

Crash Bars
Installing a set of crash bars to the DE 800 V-Strom is one of our most recommended upgrades, as they cover the lower part of the fairing and also provide protection to the radiator area in the event of the bike tipping over or an impact from an unsuspected obstacle on a narrow trail. They can also be used to strap extra luggage to if you are travelling on a long trip. Our DE 800 V-Strom crash bars add a total of 2kg extra weight to the bike and are constructed from 3mm thick aluminium tubing that is 25mm wide. As you can see from the photo below they come with black plastic sliders that offer slightly more protection but their main feature is to enhance the look of the crash bars. The sliders are optional and can be removed if you prefer the look of the crash bars without them, spares can also be purchased individually if they become damaged.

Radiator Guard
This part compliments the skid plate and crash bars perfectly to offer excellent protection to the front of the DE 800 V-Strom. The radiator guard is manufactured from 304 stainless steel with laser cut honeycomb design holes, this combination provides protection to the radiator from stones and other debris without sacrificing too much airflow to the radiator. Our DE 800 V-Strom radiator guard is 1.5mm thick and weighs only 600 grams, which is a small increase in weight for the amount of protection it provides.

Rear Brake Master Cylinder Guards
We also supply replacement rear brake master cylinder guards for the Suzuki DE 800 V-Strom, they come as a pair for both the right (shown below) and the left side of the bike. The standard guards on the DE 800 V-Strom are plastic, our guards are manufactured from 304 stainless steel and are a stronger upgrade. They are 1.5mm thick and will sit slightly closer to the frame of the bike to help prevent your boots from catching on them while riding. Below they are shown in a natural stainless steel finish but all of our DE 800 V-Strom master cylinder guards come in a textured matt black finish.

Side Stand Base Extension Plate
This is one of our more popular products for adventure bikes and is now also available for the Suzuki DE 800 V-Strom. Adventure bikes can be incredibly heavy and when parked on soft or uneven ground the standard side stand can sometimes sink or become unstable. Our side stand base extension plates can be easily mounted to the OEM side stand and will increase the surface area of the base of the stand making it less likely to sink on soft ground and more stable on uneven ground. The side stand base extension for the Suzuki DE 800 V-Strom is constructed from a combination of stainless steel for strength and durability and a black aluminium plate for aesthetics, it has a total weight of only 200 grams.

Suzuki DE 800 V-Strom SR75 Rally Edition
Suzuki DE 800 V-Strom SR75 World Team Rally Edition
If you were wondering why you've never heard of this model and before you pick up the phone to try and order one from your local Suzuki dealer, the unfortunate news is that it's not available to buy. The Suzuki DE 800 V-Strom SR75 Rally Edition is a project bike built by SR75 World Team Suzuki that we were exited to be a part of. SR75 Wold Team Suzuki are predominantly known for racing supercross and arenacross on Suzuki RMZ 250 and RMZ 450 motocross bikes but have also entered a selection of beach races and rally events. They previously modified the earlier version of the V-Strom series, the DL 650 V-Strom XT, converting it to rally specification, this bike also featured one of our aluminium skid plates. For the DE 800 they turned the standard V-Strom model into their Rally Edition by replacing the standard 21" front wheel and 17" rear wheel with 21" and 18" wheels from ENVY and fitting a set of Dunlop D209 RR off-road tyres and mousses. They also added a slightly modified FMF exhaust which really brings the bike to life. They upgraded the suspemsion to Showa front forks with 220mm of travel and finished the bike off with a complete custom set of graphics from GP Grafix.

AS3 Performance Skid Plate and Handlebar Risers
The bike was then fitted with our aluminium skid plate in textured matt black (shown in the photo above) to protect the lower engine and give the bike that tougher rally style look. They also swapped out the OEM handlebars for a set from a Suzuki RMZ 450 motocross bike and used our handlebar riser kit to raise them to them up slightly, the kit comes with multiple hight options which allows the rider to test different heights of the handlebars before deciding on a comfortable setting. The SR75 Suzuki DE 800 V-Strom was first displayed to the public at the ABR Festival (Adventure Bike Rider Festival) in the UK in June 2024.
