The engine casings and the frame are two of the most expensive parts on any motorcycle and if they become damaged to the point where they need replacing the work involved in doing this can almost exceed the cost of the parts. By installing a skid plate you will minimise the chances of these parts getting damaged and the initial cost of the skid plate could be a fraction of the price of repairing the motorcycle.
Which Skid Plate Is Better For Motocross?
Most motocross riders prefer to use a small, light skid plate that protects the lower engine casings and lower frame only as this provides a high level of protection without a significant increase in weight. Can You Install A Skid Plate With Crash Bars
All of our skid plates are designed to fit alongside our range of crash bars to offer complete protection to the motorcycle. However if your bike has aftermarket crash bars installed or if they were an optional extra when you purchased the motorcycle we can't guarantee that both will be compatible.
