AS3 Performance
AS3 Performance aluminium skid plates are constructed from 4mm thick aluminium to provide the best protection possible to your engine without adding unnecessary weight to the bike. They feature double welds on the joints for extra strength and have all the relevant holes for ventilation and to allow you to work on the bike without removing the plate. The skid plate has a textured matt black finish and AS3 Performance branding.
Please note all AS3 Performance skid plates are developed around the motorcycle when it is in complete OEM form, any optional extras or aftermarket parts like centre stands or crash bars etc may cause fitment issues. Great fitment. Much better quality than the oem plate. Very high quality materials with solid welds on the brackets.Took 15 min to install due to great guide and supplied fittings.
I've had this plate for quite some time now. This has since been put through its paces as well and not a mark to show after taking punishment from some serious rocks on a European TET tour.
With that being said, after speaking directly to Charlie and the team, I did have to make some minor modifications to it during fitting as I was told this is to fit the OEM crash bars only or no crash bars at all (this could have changed over time so please contact AS3 Performance if you are unsure). I didn't want to send it back so took the risk. Where the crash bars (HEED) fit to the lower engine mount, the skid plate clashed. To get around this I used a hole saw and cut away a small piece, away from structural welds, so it could slot around the bars. Worked a treat.
Anyway if your wanted to purchase one of these plates I can definitely say they are brilliant and well well well worth the money. This is after over a years worth of punishment in all weathers and terrain. Brilliant.
