AS3 Performance aluminium skid plates are constructed from 4mm thick aluminium to provide the best protection possible to your engine without adding unnecessary weight to the bike. They feature double welds on the joints for extra strength and have all the relevant holes for ventilation and to allow you to work on the bike without removing the plate. The skid plate has a textured matt black finish and AS3 Performance branding.

Please note all AS3 Performance skid plates are developed around the motorcycle when it is in complete OEM form, any optional extras or aftermarket parts like centre stands or crash bars etc may cause fitment issues. An excellent upgrade over the OEM solution

Bit of a no-brainer to upgrade the bash guard on the Tuareg if you intend to take it off-road. The OEM guard consists of two parts, is incredibly thin and flimsy.

I was initially hesitant on purchasing as another review suggested that it wasn't fully compatible with the 2025 E5+ variant of the Tuareg. I reached out to AS3 and they got back to me incredibly quickly explaining that they reached out to the customer but didn't hear back and were unable to recreate the issue on their end, but were there to help if I ran into any issues.

I purchased the bash guard (and full crash bar set) and didn't have any issues during the install. There's an o2 sensor bracket that appears to be new on the E5+ variant of the Tuareg and whilst it made fitment of the mounting bracket snug, it didn't seem to hinder a successful install for me. You will need to remove a plastic clip that holds the o2 sensor wire though, this can be popped back on afterwards.

If installing at the same time as crash bars, install the upper bars first, then lower bars and finally bash guard.

If I did run into any issues, I was confident that it would be sorted. My initial query was handled quickly and once I had installed the product, AS3 reached out to check if I had any issues during the install, where I was able to provide some insight on how it went.

A good solid piece of kit that do a much better job of protecting the bike. Unfortunately the design doesn’t appear to take into account uk emissions as my bike had a small bracket that was in the way and had to be removed, not ideal as it holds a wire to an exhaust sensor. This needs addressing.
