The Honda CR 500 is becoming more and more rare as time goes on, however we still speak to many of you that are either restoring one or adding a few performance upgrades and custom touches to the most powerful Honda two stroke motocross bike ever made. How Can You Improve The Performance Of The Honda CR 500 Motocross Bike?

We have a number of parts that can help improve the performance of the Honda CR 500, one of them being our cooling kit that is supplied with an oversized impeller to better circulate the coolant and improve the overall cooling of the bike. We also offer front and rear stainless steel braided brake lines that will give you an improvement in braking performance over the OEM rubber hoses, lets face it with that much two stoke power, you need the brakes to be as sharp as possible! If you're looking to change the gearing we also have a selection of rear sprockets available in two styles from 48T-52T. Our front sprockets for the CR 500 come in either 13T or 14T.

Which Parts Should You Replace When Restoring A Honda CR 500 Motocross Bike?

When working on a restoration project, especially on an older bike like the Honda CR 500 we always recommend to change all of the bearings because you have just acquired the bike you don't know how long it has been sat unused for or the level of maintenance it has had previously. We have a selection of bearing kits for the Honda CR 500 including wheel bearings, linkage bearings, headstock bearings and swing arm bearings. All kits are supplied with seals and bushings where required and will have everything you need to rebuild that specific area of the bike. We also supply rebuild kits for the master cylinders and brake calipers as these components can wear and deteriorate over time.

What Stronger Upgrades Can You Install on The Honda CR 500?

With older two stoke motocross and enduro bikes the OEM rubber hoses can often go hard and start to crack and deteriorate. Many of these rubber hoses are now discontinued and can be incredibly difficult to find we supply a complete set of silicone hoses for the Honda CR 500 at are much stronger than the OEM rubber hoses. We also supply a billet aluminium clutch cover for the CR 500 if you're looking to protect the internal clutch parts or swap it for the discontinued original.
