Which Parts Are Most Popular For The Beta 300 Xtrainer?

At AS3 Performance, we have stocked, ridden and developed parts for the Beta 300 Xtrainer since the bike's launch. Our range covers everything from radiator braces and skid plates to forged brake pedals, billet water pump covers, and aluminium throttle tubes, all designed and tested specifically for this bike. Whether you're preparing the Xtrainer for a hard enduro, replacing a part that's reached the end of its life, or building a more refined and durable version of your existing setup, you'll find what you need in this category.

Radiator Braces

The radiators are the parts of the bike that protrude furthest from the centre line after the handlebars, and on a bike that is as commonly used in tight, technical and extreme enduro terrain as the Xtrainer, they are usually the first thing to take impact when the bike is laid over, lobbed off-line or comes into contact with a tree. Without protection, a hard knock can bend the fins, split the core or push the radiator into the engine. A leaking radiator is one of the few things that will end a ride on the spot.

Our radiator braces for the Beta 300 Xtrainer use a lightweight 3.5mm wrap-around frame with 5mm heavy-duty strengthening bars and a matt black finish. The wrap-around construction absorbs and distributes impact across the full perimeter of the radiator, while the open-grid design preserves airflow. This is important on a slow technical ride where the bike is barely moving, and the cooling fan is doing most of the work.

The brace fits the 250 Xtrainer (2017–2025) and the 300 Xtrainer (2015–2025) and ships with all the bolts and hardware required for installation. Fitting takes about 15 minutes with no permanent modifications to the bike.

Brake Pedals

The rear brake pedal sits in one of the most exposed positions on the bike, taking more impacts than almost any other component: rocks, ruts, logs, the rider's own boot and the inevitable lay-down on a hard ride. The forging process we use for our brake pedals deliberately keeps the aluminium slightly softer than a cast or fully CNC-machined alternative, reducing the risk of the pedal snapping cleanly on impact and leaving you with no rear brake mid-ride. We supply two options for the Beta 300 Xtrainer:

  • AS3 Forged Rear Brake Pedal: cold forged from aluminium for strength, with weight kept to a minimum. Fitted with a spring-loaded tip that pivots on impact, nine replaceable stainless steel teeth for boot grip and a stainless steel brake snake cable that keeps the pedal from being trapped in deep ruts and rocks. Black anodised finish with a coloured tip and AS3 Performance branding. Fits the Beta RR (125–520) and Xtrainer (250/300) models from 2010–2025.
  • AS3 Factory Series Forged Rear Brake Pedal & Gear Lever: sold as a matched set. Both levers are forged and CNC-machined, with a sand-blasted, anodised matte-black finish that closely mimics the factory look, and titanium-coloured CNC-machined replaceable tips. The gear lever has a spring-loaded tip, and the brake pedal includes the stainless steel brake snake cable. Tips are replaceable; alternative colours are available on request.

The Factory Series set is available in a fitment for the 250/300 Xtrainer (2015–2020) and a separate version for the 250 Xtrainer (2022–2025) and 300 Xtrainer (2021–2025), reflecting the change in the rear brake mounting on the newer bikes. Always check the year on the individual product page before purchasing.

Water Pump Covers

The water pump cover sits low on the right side of the engine and is one of the components most exposed to rock, log and side-impact damage on a bike that spends most of its life in tight enduro terrain. Our AS3 water pump cover is CNC-machined from billet aluminium, with a hard-anodised finish and laser-etched AS3 Performance branding. Billet construction offers noticeably greater impact resistance than a cast cover, and the hard-anodised finish resists scratching and corrosion over years of use.

The cover is a direct-fit replacement that uses the original OEM bolts and is compatible with the factory water pump gasket, so no extra parts or modifications are required to install it. Fitment covers the Beta 250/300 RR (2013–2025) and the 250/300 Xtrainer (2015–2025). Available in red or black to match the bike's colour scheme.

Throttle Tubes

Throttle feel is one of those small details that most riders only notice when something is off. On a low-displacement two-stroke like the Xtrainer, where power has to be modulated carefully through technical sections, a smooth, consistent throttle action makes a tangible difference to how the bike rides. Our aluminium throttle tube for the Beta 300 Xtrainer is CNC-machined from billet aluminium, with an internal bearing and a Teflon-lined inner sleeve. Both work together to keep the throttle action smooth, consistent and low-friction even after years of hard riding and dusty conditions.

The exterior is knurled to give the throttle grip a positive surface to bond to and prevent it from slipping under heavy use. Fitted in place of the original throttle tube using the same fasteners as the factory unit. Available in red or black and fits the Beta 125/200/250/300 RR and Xtrainer 2013–2023. Note that the throttle tube is not compatible with wrap-around hand guards, and a separate adapter is required for use with Renthal Twinwall handlebars.

Skid Plates

The Xtrainer's engine cases sit close to the lower frame rails and are exposed to direct impact from rocks, roots and logs. A skid plate is one of the first additions most Xtrainer owners make to the bike, particularly given how regularly the Xtrainer is used in hard enduro and extreme enduro environments where ground contact is constant. We supply both DTC plastic and aluminium options for the 300 Xtrainer:

  • AS3 DTC Plastic Skid Plate with Linkage Guard: manufactured from 6mm thick DTC (Dense Technical Compound) plastic in a one-piece construction with no welds or joins. DTC plastic is up to 40% lighter than aluminium for the same coverage area, transmits less vibration into the frame and absorbs impact rather than deflecting it. The plastic construction also glides over rocks and logs more smoothly than aluminium, which is exactly why some hard enduro riders prefer it. Available in black or red and supplied with a separate linkage guard. An optional 6mm replaceable plate can be fitted to bring linkage protection up to 12mm where the toughest terrain demands it.
  • AS3 Aluminium Skid Plate: manufactured from 4mm thick aluminium with double welds on the joints for extra strength. Includes ventilation holes and access cutouts that allow you to drain the engine, change the oil, and reach the lower fasteners without removing the plate. Brushed natural aluminium finish with AS3 Performance branding. Fits the 300 Xtrainer 2015–2022.

The choice between DTC plastic and aluminium comes down to the kind of riding you are doing. For trail, hard enduro and extreme enduro, the DTC plastic version generally has the edge, being lighter, transmitting less vibration through the frame and gliding more smoothly across obstacles. For motocross or faster, less rocky terrain, the aluminium version is a more traditional choice with proven durability and easier serviceability.

DTC plastic skid plates are not currently available for shipment to the United States or Canada.

What Parts Offer The Most Protection For The Beta 300 Xtrainer?

  • Skid Plate: the number one protection part for the Xtrainer. Both our DTC plastic and aluminium skid plates cover the engine casings and the lower frame from rock and log strikes, with the DTC plastic version also extending protection to the rear suspension linkage, an area that takes a lot of debris on a bike used for hard enduro.
  • Rear Brake Disc Guard: the rear disc is exposed and can be bent or damaged by a sideways impact or a rock thrown up into the wheel, which is enough to seize the brake or end a ride. Our rear brake disc guard for the Xtrainer is CNC machined from 6061 billet aluminium and supplied complete with the rear brake calliper carrier, so the brake mounting is upgraded at the same time. It is the choice of a number of our sponsored hard enduro riders for exactly that reason.
  • Radiator Braces: The radiators are the most exposed components on the bike when laid over and are easily bent or split by a hard drop. Our radiator braces form a protective cage that absorbs impact across the full perimeter and helps to keep the radiators intact, which avoids the rest-of-day-cancelling job of welding or replacing a damaged core.

About The Beta 300 Xtrainer

The Beta 300 Xtrainer was launched in 2015 as a more accessible alternative to the Beta 300 RR enduro bike. Beta's design brief was to keep the RR's engine character, capability, and feel, but with a lower seat height, lighter weight, and a slightly softer power delivery. The result is a bike that suits returning riders, smaller riders, trail riders, and anyone looking for a more manageable enduro machine.

The engine is a Beta-built 292.3cc liquid-cooled two-stroke single cylinder with a 73mm x 69.9mm bore and stroke and an 11.55:1 compression ratio. It runs the BPV (Beta Progressive Valve) exhaust valve with external adjustment for customising power delivery, and electronic automatic oil injection, which means no premixing of fuel and oil is required, and the oil is metered into the engine automatically based on throttle position and engine load. Fuel delivery is via a Keihin PWK 36mm carburettor, ignition is an AC Kokusan digital CDI with an oil pump controller, and the bike runs a 6-speed gearbox with a wet multi-disc clutch. An electric starter is fitted as standard.

The chassis is a perimeter molybdenum-steel frame with a double-cradle split above the exhaust port. The front suspension is a 43mm USD hydraulic fork with 270mm of travel, and the rear suspension is a monoshock with progressive linkage, also 270mm of travel. Brakes are hydraulic discs front and rear, with a 260mm wave disc and a twin-piston floating calliper at the front, and a 240mm wave disc with a single-piston floating calliper at the rear. Tyres are 80/100-21 front and 140/80-18 rear.

Seat height is a relatively low 910mm, and dry weight is 99kg, making the Xtrainer one of the lightest enduro bikes on the market and a noticeably more accessible bike than the 300 RR for shorter riders or anyone returning to the sport. The wheelbase is 1467mm, the ground clearance is 320mm, and the fuel tank holds 8.5 litres.

The Xtrainer has been refined every year since its launch, with engine map and ignition updates, frame and suspension refinements, and the introduction of the 250 Xtrainer alongside the 300 from 2017 onwards. The bike is widely used in hard and extreme enduro events at every level. Its torquey, manageable power delivery, low seat and light weight make it particularly well suited to the slow-speed, high-precision riding those events demand.

Beta 300 Xtrainer Parts FAQs

Which skid plate fits the Beta 300 Xtrainer?

We supply both a DTC plastic and an aluminium skid plate for the Beta 300 Xtrainer. The DTC plastic version is 6mm thick, available in black or red, and includes a separate linkage guard. The aluminium version is 4mm thick with double-welded joints and ventilation holes for engine access. For trail and hard enduro use the DTC plastic version is generally the better choice, being lighter and offering better impact absorption, while the aluminium version is a more traditional pick for motocross and faster terrain. Use the year filter on the product page to confirm fitment for your model year.

Do you stock parts for older Beta 300 Xtrainer models?

Yes. The Xtrainer has been in production since 2015 and most of our parts cover from 2015 onwards, although fitment varies by part. Some cover the full range and some are model-year specific. The rear brake mounting changed for the 2021 model year, for example, which means the Factory Series rear brake pedal and gear lever set has two different fitments depending on which side of that change your bike sits. Use the year filter in this category or check the individual product pages before purchasing.

Are the AS3 anodised parts for the Beta 300 Xtrainer available in different colours?

Yes. Most of our anodised parts (water pump covers, throttle tubes, oil filler plugs, rear brake clevises and bar clamps) are available in black or red. Check the individual product pages for the full colour options for each part.

Is the Beta 300 Xtrainer the same as the Beta 300 RR?

No, but the two bikes are closely related. The Xtrainer shares the engine architecture and many engine internals with the 300 RR, but it has different chassis geometry, a lower seat height and a lighter overall weight. Beta has also tuned the engine map and exhaust to give a slightly softer, more linear power delivery on the Xtrainer. The two bikes share many aftermarket parts due to their shared engine and similar chassis components, but always check fitment on the individual product pages before purchasing, as some parts are model-specific.

Do I need to mix oil with the fuel on the Beta 300 Xtrainer?

No. The Xtrainer is factory-fitted with electronic automatic oil injection. The engine oil is metered into the engine from a separate oil tank, with delivery controlled by the CDI based on throttle position and engine load. You only need to keep the oil tank topped up with the correct two-stroke oil. No premixing is required.

How can I make the Beta 300 Xtrainer more comfortable?

There are a number of small changes that can make the Xtrainer easier to live with for longer rides. Handlebar risers can give a more upright riding position, which suits taller riders or anyone who prefers to ride more in the standing position. Replacing the brake and clutch levers can improve feel and reduce hand fatigue on long days. Wider foot pegs add a more stable platform underfoot. Adjusting the gearing, by going up or down a tooth on the rear sprocket, can also tailor the power delivery to your terrain, with one or two more teeth on the rear giving a livelier, lower-geared feel for very tight technical riding.

Which parts are most useful for hard enduro on the Beta 300 Xtrainer?

The Xtrainer is one of the most popular bikes in hard and extreme enduro, and the parts that matter most for that use are the protection components. Most of our hard enduro customers run a DTC plastic skid plate with the linkage guard option, radiator braces, a rear brake disc guard, and a forged rear brake pedal with a brake snake cable to stop the pedal being trapped in rocks or roots. A number of our sponsored hard enduro riders run that exact combination on their race bikes.
