AS3 Performance Weekly Round Up #12

Jonny Walker races Arenacross in the UK

UK AX Festival, 15th - 17th Sep, Bolesworth Castle

For the first ever Arenacross festival in the UK, riders from different disciplines descended on Bolesworth Castle to compete in outdoor AX! Our supported Beta rider Jonny Walker took part in the Pro Enduro class, coming 2nd in 3 races for 2nd overall! 1st overall was Husqvarna's Billy Bolt. The Enduro Class AX races also had additional obstacles similar to Superenduro, so this was a good pre-curser event for Walker before he heads to the US for 10 weeks, to compete in the 2023 AMA Endurocross Championship. We look forward to seeing if he retains the title he won in 2022. Good luck to Jonny!

Jonny Walker Uses The Following AS3 Performance Parts For Endurocross

Jonny will compete on his Beta 300 RR and runs our Factory Series Clutch Covers and Ignition Covers. These are CNC machined from a solid block of billet aluminium, making them much stronger than the OEM equivalent parts. In addition to many of our small hard parts like Reservoir Covers, he will also run our Rear Brake Disc Guards. These are made of 6061 billet aluminium which are lightweight and provide maximum protection to the rear brake disc - especially important for Enduro!

Our Motocross supported rider Adam Harris also competed at Bolesworth on his Fantic XX 250 2 Stroke, in the 450cc Class. There were only 2 MX Classes which were ran "old school" - The "450 Class" for 250cc 2 Stroke - 450cc bikes and the "Lites Class" for 125cc - 250cc 4 Stroke bikes. Adam raced in Friday's main event and came 8th after crashing. He also raced in Sunday's main event, qualifying 3rd and then coming home in 6th after a terrible start. Congrats to Adam, although he would have wanted to be on the podium!

Alfie Webb on his GasGas EC 350 F claimed 2nd overall for the 2023 BEC in the Junior U-23 Class. Well done to Alfie! Tommy Grimmer competed in the Clubman Class on his Beta 300 RR, coming 2nd Overall & 1st in the E3 class. After 2 months off from riding and first ever entry into a BEC event, Harry Conner also competed in the Clubman Class on his GasGas EC 300. He came 8th Overall & 3rd in the E3 Class. Congrats to both riders!

Our Supported Junior Rider Updates

Junior Motocross Rider Arthur King finished off the 2023 season strongly at the Bridgestone British Masters MX Championship at Foxhills. On his KTM 65 SX in the 65cc Class, he went 2-3-7, with the last race cancelled. This gave him 3rd overall for the weekend and 3rd in the Championship! With a 4th overall in the Revo British MX Championship, as well as being picked to race for Team GB at the 2023 Junior World MX Championships, this has been a memorable season for Arthur. Congrats from all of us at AS3 and we look forward to seeing how Arthur does in 2024!

Our youngest supported rider, Ollie Hain, finished his first season in Motocross at Rhynie, Scotland. At the final round of the ADMCC event, Ollie competed in the Auto Class on his KTM 50 SX. Previous to this final round, he raced the whole season on his GasGas MC 50. After 2 practice laps and not being used to riding on a hard pack track, he adapted to the KTM well. Ollie went 5-7-5 for 5th overall, giving him 5th overall for the Championship. Ollie has come on leaps and bounds since his first race at Rhynie back in April - after only 5 months, he has improved his quickest lap time there by 13 seconds! Congrats to Ollie on a great first season and we look forward to seeing how he progresses in 2024!

Junior Enduro rider Tommy Rowan competed in the latest round of the WOR Enduro Sport Championship at Corwen in the 85cc Class. As usual, due to him being 2-3 years younger than the other riders, he was the only one taking part on a 65cc bike - his Husqvarna TC 65. Despite Tommy's age and lower bike power compared to the other competitors, he finished 2nd after 1.5 hours of racing! This was even more remarkable as he was dead last off the start seeing as his bike wouldn't start straight away. Another fantastic result for Tommy, well done!

Another Junior Enduro rider, Jacob Bragg, competed in the Fast Eddy Racing Championship in the 85cc Class at the weekend. He came 2nd on Saturday and 1st on Sunday riding his GasGas MC 85. Congrats to Jacob!
